Long Lost @Eve6 Live Video Surfaces On YouTube, @Eve6Tony Reminisces
Back in August, Eve 6 Media HQ message board poster “TRcks808″ linked to a 12 year old video that had recently surfaced on YouTube of Eve 6 playing at a huge rock festival called “Rockfest 99.” Of course, the song was Inside Out, and beyond some giggles about Tony’s hair and how awesome it was to see Eve 6 playing in front of such a huge crowd, the thread went dormant. Below is the video in question:
Then, out of nowhere, Tony stopped by the Eve 6 Media HQ message board and exclusively shared his unique perspective of the show from his position behind the drum set. Here is what he had to say:
Stopped by and I saw this. Had to laugh. Loving the hair. I will say that was actually the largest crowd we ever played in front of in our history, upwards of 100k. It was the biggest festival that year (except woodstock 99 perhaps) and pretty much every big band of the day was on the bill. It was sort of the predecessor to the euro style 1 to 2 day festivals all over the country nowadays (Lolla, Bonnaroo, Coachella etc).
After doing a bit of research, it turns out that there were upwards of 130k people at the show (which took place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway), and the lineup included the following bands:
Taxi Drive
Marvelous 3
Silverchair
Better than Ezra
Sugar Ray
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Eve 6
Everlast
Collective Soul
Live
The Offspring
Such a classic lineup of 90′s bands. Pretty sure most of the people reading this blog would pay a lot of money to see that same exact show tomorrow!
